During a mission trip in 2008 to the city of New Orleans, where members of FBC helped members of this Gulf Coast community that had been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, a challenge was issued to these Christian workers. What was that challenge? To go home and continue the same kind of ministry in their own community: Gettysburg.
The challenge was to find members of our community who were in the same kind of situation as the residents of New Orleans and share the light and love of Jesus with them.
Having experienced the joy of being the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ, these workers came back to Gettysburg and shared their experience with the congregation of First Baptist. Soon, the Lord provided a trailer that is used not only for this ministry but is also used in our Angelfood Ministry.
