Between Labor Day and Easter, join us every Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm for our exciting AWANA program for children!  More information...

Life Group

Life Group meets every Wednesday evening during AWANA 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Come and be fed God’s Word while your kids are doing the same.

Have you ever opened the Bible and asked the following:

  1. What does this passage really mean?
  2. How does it apply to my life?
  3. Why does some of the Bible seem irrelevant?
  4. What do these ancient cultures have to with today?
  5. I love God; why can’t I understand what he is saying to me through his Word?
  6. What’s going on in the lives of these Bible people?

God urges us to apply his Word (Isaiah 42:23; 1 Corinthians 10:11; 2 Thessalonians 3:4), but too often we stop at accumulating Bible knowledge.  Applying God’s Word is a vital part of one's relationship with God; it is the evidence that we are obeying him. The difficulty in applying the Bible is not with the Bible itself, but with the reader’s inability to bridge the gap between the past and the present, conceptual and practical. When we don’t or can’t do this, spiritual dryness, shallowness and indifference are the results. James 1:22 says. “Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

What is Application?
Application begins by knowing and understanding God’s Word and its timeless truths, but you cannot stop there.  If you do, God’s Word may not change your life and it may become dull, difficult, tedious and tiring.  A good application focuses the reader on what to do about what is being read and motivates the reader to respond to what God is teaching.

So, please be in prayer about being a part of this Wednesday night Life Group Adult Bible after you have dropped off your child to Awana’s or your teen at the Youth Room. Any adults who want to be fed God Word and then apply it, then please join us. We will be starting and stopping the same time as Awana’s and Youth. This study will be design so that you can come in at anytime and join us. It is also an opportunity to build relationships.
